Start Young With Traffic Highway Safety Training

In the last few blogs we’ve seen how one can study the surrounding traffic in a community and estimate whether that community has safe roads. Furthermore, we’ve also leaned the same type of observation can determine if an individual (your teen driver or his friends) knows anything about avoiding traffic crashes.

What a powerful tool!

Here’s another use of this powerful technique of simple observation. You can play games while the entire family is taking that long vacation drive. You can get your young kids to pick out the future highway killers by simple observation. Your 10 year old will be able to rate the driving habits of an individual, a community, or an entire state.

Folks, teach your kids this game while they are young. It will make them a highway safety fanatic their entire life. You see they can’t play this game unless they know the five secrets to safe driving.

Do you know these simple five rules? To learn more about real highway safety for please SADD and MADD members visit our web site for more information on how to eliminate traffic crashes at: WWW.StopCarCrashes.com

Traffic Highway Safety Not Rocket Science

From the last two postings, we know that predicting safe roads from "physical observation only" is possible. In other words you don’t need to be a traffic engineer, highway patrolman, or rocket scientist.

All you need to do is be very familiar with the five basic driving rules that equates to avoiding traffic crashes -------------------------------------------- Just five rules!

Make sure your family knows and follows them. Make sure the people that drive your family knows and follows them. Make sure your community, state, and nation knows and follows them.
That’s it, that’s all there is to eliminating almost all traffic accidents and never worrying about your loved ones when they are on the road.

Going back to the last two postings, Utah drivers come closer than Florida Drivers to following those five rules; hence my prediction by simple observing the Utah and Florida drivers.
How would you like to be able to predict the likely hood of traffic accidents by simply observing other drivers (especially your teens), or community of drivers?

Just think of how relaxed you’re sure that your loved ones were traffic accident avoidance robots? To learn more about real highway safety for please SADD and MADD members visit our web site for more information on how to eliminate traffic crashes at: WWW.StopCarCrashes.com

Predictable Traffic Highway Safety

Utah’s Roads Are Safer ----------------As Predicted!

On my last posting, I “predicted” that Utah’s roads were safer than my home state’s (Florida’s roads). More importantly, I made this prediction without looking at stat one. I based the prediction on simple observation while driving Utah roads while on vacation.

Upon returning to Florida from my vacation to Utah I looked up the statistics and sure enough Utah’s fatality rate per hundred thousand population was 38% safer than Florida’s (for 2008).

How did I make this prediction and what is the implication?

The how is simple, I and all my readers know that safe roads are mostly about 5 key safe-driving habits and these habits are easy to spot. The implication: If one can spot these “safe driving” habits; one can make sure their loved ones drive with those habits; and just as critical, can make sure everyone that drives a loved one also has these habits.

The good news it only takes about a 15 minute ride with anyone to know their risk potential on our dangerous roads. The fact is you, I, our families, and communities can avoid traffic accidents caused by those drivers that are aggressive, inattentive, drunk, or young (that don't drive with our safe driving habits).

Traffic Highway Safety In Utah

A MADD and SADD Lesson in Real Highway Safety

Spent the last two weeks driving Utah Roads; they're safer than Florida Rds. I conclude this without looking at any stats.

I base this on observation only. If you know what to look for it's easy to spot safe and unsafe roads. Here's a hint: safe roads equates to safe driving. And, Utah drivers are not in as big a rush and more importantly, drive with much healthier following gaps than do Florida drivers.

Traffic Highway Safety And The Problem STatement

Are Most Accidents Caused by Drunks or Teens?

That’s right, this is a trick question. Both driving populations are indeed deserving of their strong societal pressure. But technically it’s not the drinking or the youth that causes traffic crashes.

Folk’s it their unsafe driving that causes all the damage and destruction on our roads. The point is, non drinkers and older drivers can drive just as destructively.

Do you know specifically what driving habits cause all the problems and what we, as a society, can do about it? Do you know how to catch unsafe drivers before their future accident? Accidents Caused By Tailgating

BACK OFF For Real Traffic Highway Safety

If you’ve been reading this blog for any time then you know by now that one of the five laws for traffic highway safety is no tailgating. Specifically, if everyone on the road kept a 3-6 second following gap we could eliminate almost all traffic accidents.

So, the other day I drive up to a stop light and see a macho man riding a Harley without a helmet. On the back of his tee shirt are the words, back off. I laugh realizing how significant those words are in the battle to make our roads safe.

However, here’s the rest of the story: When the light turns green this idiot takes off right on the bumper of the car in front of him. The road is congested, no where to go and this suicide motorcyclists tailgates for miles.

Go back to our last posting. Again, in Florida 36% of all roadway fatalities in 2007 were pedestrians, bicyclists, or motorcyclists. Please don’t drive with bad driving habits, especially if you are helmetless motorcyclists.
